Etsy Shops, Online Sales, E-courses, etc..

Hi all!

I just added a new page to the top of the blog.  It is a place where you can add a link for an Etsy shop, your online sales page, e-courses or anything else you sell.  The links MUST be art, supplies or related to creative living.  Anything else will be deleted.  Promote your art here!

Some day one of my goals is to set up an Etsy shop.  I haven't done so yet, but it would be fun to talk about any tips you have or your experiences selling.

What kinds of things do you find sell best?
How do you price your art?
How do you promote your shop?
Any tips for new sellers?

I can compile a list of tips if you add your experiences to this post.

  1. Thanks Marcia. I've added my Picasa album link of abstracts for sale.
    Stay inspired!

  2. I would love to hear any tips - I tried a Zibbet shop once but had no sales - kinda scared to try Etsy. . .

  3. Good idea!! I've had some sales at my Etsy shop. I opened it in 2009, but I had sales above all through BNRs (Buy and Replace). Lately, though, I have sent some items to USA and Canada, but they never arrived.... :( I think it's Italian Mail System that works bad... But since then, I had to refund the buyers and gave a break to my Etsy adventure. I was thinking about going back to selling printables.
For what concerns pricing, you should search for similar sellers/items and decide how much you think your art is worth. I found ACEOs for 40$ and others for 3$.
Anyway, anything original and handmade sells well on Etsy. :)

  5. I have an Etsy shop for my commission work and have had one sale from it. Am in the process of purchasing a wide-format printer so that I can print my own landscape paintings and hopefully open a second shop on Etsy just for those. However, I might just add a shop to my blog which, I've heard, is working well for some people. Thanks for adding the button. You rock!

  7. I am still very new to this and have only just opened my shop! But to look at pricing I just did what BlackPumpkin said and looked at similar items. It is very much a labour of love so must reflect that. However don't undersell yourself.
